Baby Shoes

Many new parents tend to cover their newborn’s feet with baby shoes, thinking that they’re doing a very clever and righteous thing, but they’re not. They are, ostensibly, suffocating their child’s feet in the name of being a ‘good’ parent. What a joke! Good intentions really do pave the way to hell. Contrary to popular belief, you should not rub your children’s heels or insteps with sand paper as this invariably makes them cry and really serves no purpose except to cause pain.

It is the age old question that has been asked over and over again for ages. Should I put baby shoes on my child? It is a question that gets easier to answer as the child grows. For example, say you had a son who just celebrated his eighth birthday. It would be ridiculous to dress his little feet in baby shoes. What if he trod on a nail? Do you think the wool would protect him? Think again you idiot! Common sense has long played a very important role in most decisions relating to footwear. Please use your brain.

Baby shoes are cute but ‘cute’ won’t get you a good job or pay your bills. More practical footwear can be found to bind the feet of tiny children. Steel cap boots can be bought in babies sizes now, as can clogs and mouse traps. In New Zealand, mothers sticky tape bread to the soles of their offspring’s feet. In Denmark, the feet are covered with pillows and nail gunned to trestle tables. Your options are varied and many, so open your eyes and start doing what’s right for your baby.
